September 2010 - AVM moves further into unified communications

London audiovisual and video conferencing integrator Audio Visual Machines (AVM) is moving further into the unified communications (UC) arena by expanding its portfolio with Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS).

AVM said in a statement that OCS users can locate and communicate with office and remote staff using familiar applications, increasing productivity and efficiency. OCS works with Microsoft’s UC offering.

"We now have the ability to integrate desktop conferencing with room-based and immersive video conferencing systems providing clients with a total solution," it said.

"OCS delivers a complete end-to-end hosted UC portfolio, which includes IP telephony voice, presence, instant messaging, audio, video and web conferencing."

Companies can link to or federate with their clients and supply chain externally as well as among their own staff, AVM said.
