October 2011 - AVM opens second Scottish office

Integrator Audio Visual Machines (AVM) is investing in its Scottish business, adding staff and resources as well as opening an office in Glasgow.

Adrian Robertson, Scotland director at AVM, said the firm already had a strong presence in Scotland, with an office in Perth.

"We have recruited a project manager, corporate sales specialist, audiovisual engineers and internal support staff. Glasgow is a key area for us and the new office will help better serve clients in this area," he said.

Matrix Display Systems, a division of AVM, will be known as AVM Education Ltd from 1st July 2011. AVM bought Matrix in July 2008 for an undisclosed amount.

Since the acquisition Matrix has since been operating as the specialist education division of AVM. The new name is intended to show that it can draw upon the core skills and strengths of AVM, whilst still differentiating itself as an education specialist.

October 2010 - Courts 'should take more video link evidence'

Courts should make more use of video links to make it easier for witnesses to give evidence without going to court, the government has said.

Justice minister Jonathan Djanogly said the system had not kept up with technology and had to "catch up".

London audiovisual and video conferencing integrator Audio Visual Machines (AVM) is moving further into the unified communications (UC) arena by expanding its portfolio with Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS).

AVM said in a statement that OCS users can locate and communicate with office and remote staff using familiar applications, increasing productivity and efficiency. OCS works with Microsoft’s UC offering.

Audio Visual Machines has been placed 37th in the ranks of Britain's fastest-growing private tech companies. The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table measures Britain's top 100 private companies that have demonstrated the fastest growth over a three year period. AVM's placing in the table was based upon last year's results.

AVM has profitably grown to a £40m turnover company with a staff of 250 in 7 offices around the UK.
